The Living Museum – Part 3

Later in the week, there was a massive celebration at Horse Guards followed by a parade up the Mall to Buckingham Palace.

This was two days after the bombings in London and the turnout was huge. This WWII truck carries a common message felt in the days following the bombings.

We also saw the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

They were followed by a band made up of musicians from the army, navy, and air force.

Next were veterans carrying flags from their units.

After the parade, the thousands of us in the crowd went to Buckingham Palace to see the Queen again…

…and a flyover by military aircraft.

Earlier in the week, the Queen officially unveiled a new memorial dedicated to the women of World War II.
