Blocked!

It seems that the page http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/homeland/index.html is blocked by my county's web server.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/homeland/index.html
is inaccessible through Hertfordshire Grid For Learning
because it contains material which is inappropriate for use in schools.

Interesting. I've tried a few pages related to US Homeland Security and they're mostly blocked.

A couple of new features

Here are The House of Tomorrow, we're always looking for ways to brighten your day as well as enrich your life. As a result, we are pleased to introduce both 'A.Word.A.Day' and 'Thought of the Day' from our friends at Wordsmith.org. Each weekday, you will be treated to an interesting word and quote located just below my Stomehenge Druid picture in the side bar. It updates automatically (though you may have to refresh the page) and, best of all, it's free!

Enjoy!

Remembrance Day

In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae, May 1915

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep,
though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
