Spain!
I have safely arrived in Salou, Spain. I flew Ryanair (a budget airline) from Luton Airport (closer to me than Heathrow) and arrived in a small airport called Reus. In fact, it was so small, there were only two baggage carousels and we were the only plane in sight. I was first off the plane (Ryanair lets you choose your own seats when you board so I picked the first row window seat - plenty of leg room!) and I walked down the steps and onto the tarmac. Everyone else was following me as if I had a clue where to go.
Anyway, we ended up in the right place. I found an inexpensive bus that took me straight to my hotel and will pick me up on Saturday.
After settling in, I walked to the beach. It is so warm here (compared to England). After passing quite a few closed shops and restaurants on my way to the beach, I began to worry. "How in the heck am I going to get anything to eat...everything is closed!" Later, after finding a place with many stores open, my worry turned into, "How in the heck am I going to get anything to eat...I donĀ“t speak any Spanish!"
Luckily, I found a grocery store and successfully paid for my purchases. Feeling relieved, I found a restaurant and got some dinner.
Now, I just have to find my way back to the hotel...
