Electronics and water don't mix

But what happens if you happen to drop that phone in some water?

This person swam half a lap in the pool before he remembered about his phone. He recommends removing the battery, drying it, then soaking it in alcohol and drying it again. (Who knows...it may work! Evidently the alcohol dries out the water.)

This site, though, suggests leaving it turned off in a bowl of uncooked rice. (Hey, it keeps salt from clumping...)
